Sterling overlay frames are produced by applying a solid sheet of .925 sterling silver over a base metal of brass or aluminum, which is then attached to a solid wood back. The silver finish is treated with a tarnish proof lacquer which allows the frame to keep its bright shine long term without needing to be polished. A clean soft cotton cloth can be used to wipe away finger prints.
