Alyssa and Christopher met during freshman year at Texas A&M when they bumped into each other (literally!) on campus. Their love blossomed, and on the day of Alyssa’s graduation, Christopher surprised her with a proposal at her family’s lake house, surrounded by loved ones. “I’m not one who’s easily surprised, but boy did he pull off the surprise of the century!” says Alyssa. They celebrated their marriage at beautiful Big Sky Barn, where, “tucked back into the woods of Montgomery, Texas, our wedding was absolutely beautiful, from the flowers, to the cakes, to the colors, and everything in between,” recounts the bride. The celebration began with a ceremony inside Big Sky Barn’s lovely chapel, followed by a reception in the Grand Barn that evoked a “soft, earthy and romantic” atmosphere. Guests indulged in a classic three-tier white almond cake with Bavarian cream filling and a chocolate groom’s cake in the shape of an Aggie ring, both from Susie’s Cakes. Among the bride’s most cherished moments of the day? Breakfast with her bridesmaids: “One by one they stood around the table and spoke words of encouragement, said what they loved most about me, and shared scriptures to take with me into this new season of marriage.”
